Hi all
just a thumbs up to all the Oofers who over the years have added to the "How To" in the maintenance guides on here.
I have been searching other forums, mainly Ford and mainly Fiesta, as a few jobs need to be done on this 2008 Mk6 version I have aquired.
Sadly the quantity , quality and detail of what I have been able to find, which is not much , is very very poor compared to what I am used to on here with our maintenance section . :'( :'( :'(
I am trying to find how to remove and replace the drivers door " central locking pack" seems it almost a complete door strip down from the inside , outer door card , inner door card , glass out, window mecanism out . . + more :o :o :o :o
Gonna take the old door into the house as I have no garage, and take it apart first as a trial to see whats involved . . .
looks complicated ( for me anyway ::) ::) )from the only video I can find though .
Again thanks to you guys who have posted up our OOf guides . . .real quality in comparison.
Regards Al :y :y

Much like the Jag. Though I bet most of the design was done when it was Ford ;D
Suspect, like mine, its not "hard", just lots of steps. Good luck :y

The resident expert on the Renault owners forum has a standard replay for people enquiring on engines which wont start.
" Have you tried easy start ? Turn the engine over and get someone to keep spraying Easy start into the inlet until it fires up".
Unbelievable !

When my lad had his Navara he asked one of the Navara forum guys how he had managed to change the reversing camera display on the dash to accept streaming etc.
The guy replied "Bear with me and I'll get back to you."
A couple of days later he replied with a 'How to', complete with pictures. He had taken his Navara apart again to show what he had done. That's what you call helpful. :y
As said, the 'How to's' on here are a godsend and very helpful. :y

Wondering whether to do an XE towbar fitting guide for some of the Jag forums, just to see what the reaction is. ;D
That's one of the jobs on my list now I'm confined to quarters. ::)

The Merc forum will just say take it to a Merc indie & get the codes read ::)

It's not just advice and knowledge though, Mr. Blue, but also physical help from yourself and others. I won't try to list all those who have helped me with work on my beloved Omega for fear of leaving someone off due to my failing, ageing memory - but you know who you are! :y

Forums for the BINI.
Usual answer is "oh that sounds like you'd need a dealer"
Airbag light was on on my daughter's 51 reg Cooper. I knew it would be the passenger seat belt pretensioner, and a simple reset would sort it for 18 months. All i needed to do was plug in my BMW specific code reader and turn it off. But there was no power to the OBD connector.
Asked the question. Nothing on 3 forums.
I couldn't work out which fuse would cover it.
Eventually I took every fuse out until I found one blown.
Shall I go back and tell people what I've found.
Will I buggery.

Hopefully they will be just as helpful when it blows again ::)

It's the same one that does the 12v socket. Daighter told me later that it stopped working when she was using the Halfords compressor to pump up the tyres. And it started smelling of burning.
Yes a rational explanation.
She also pointed out that the clock now works too.
