Several months ago I changed the engine in my 3.0l Omega. When I did I noticed there was traces of oil in the manual Bell housing so changed the rear crank seal with a seal from eBay. Fitted engine and did about 100 miles, then noticed an oil leak from the front of the gearbox!!! I have got a genuine GM rear seal, and pulled off the gearbox. Has anyone got any advice on fitting the seal? I have had a sleeve made the seal size to knock it on, but should I tap it on with brass bar. Also should it be fitted flush, or tapped home until it bottoms out. Any advice would be appreciated.

If the mounting face has any damage at all, it will leak.
More important to be meticulous about not marking the housing than how to fit the seal.
That said, press it home evenly until it is flush :y block of clean pine and a rubber mallet should do the job...

be careful to slide the lip of the seal very gently over where it sits on the crank. At work we'll sometimes roll a plastic shim into a tube over the shaft as a guide for the lip seal to slide over so it doesn't damage it .... easier to do than explain :-[
