I'm amazed at that. Rochdale is just a few miles away from me and it rained at my house for about 5 mins yesterday! ???
.... just as I was about to carry on painting my fence

Obviously .... ::) ::) :-*

Note that the politician instantly blames climate change. ::)
She also mentions the Victorian sewers and I wonder how many houses have been built in that town since those sewers were installed. A lot I suspect and like most villages, towns and cities the sewers were never upgraded to handle all the rainwater from those extra roofs that drain off into the sewage network. :-\

Do roofs & drains actualy go into the sewage system? I thought they went into the local rivers etc :-\ :-\

domestic drainage is hit and miss as to how it is plumbed,depending on age and location
rainwater from roofs can go to a soak-away in the ground, OR in to foul drain sewers or even into the road to the road gutters
if your roof water goes into foul drains then your water bill will be higher for the water company to process the extra water.

As above .... it could go directly or via your local sewage farm! :-*
