Title: Any use to anyone ? Dead alternator

Fed up of tripping over it.  Is my dead 120A alternator of any interest to anyone ?

I couldn't split the diode pack - but thinking these are actually okay.
It does *need* a rear bearing, the plastic bearing surround is intact (which is more than can be said for the bearing cage). The rings have been scored but have cleaned up nicely, brushes some life in them and all makes good contact - checked under rotation too.

I did spin it will a small battery drill but suspect far too slow, the output didn't put out my makeshift 'charge' lamp, I did gets some voltage out of it but not enough although this likely equated to an in-car speed of only 250-500rpm.

I'm not the only one with a dead alternator in my garage then  ::) .... just in case!  ;D ;D

I kept one back as a handy core exchange... The other three got scrapped  ;D

Ah, I didn't know 'collecting them' was a thing.

Mine will get put out for the big rubbish heap in the earth later in the week then.

I didn't make a conscious effort to collect them .... I just put them under the bench in the garage 'for later'  ....  ::) ;D ;D

I wonder how many of us has knackered stuff stashed about because "it might come in handy"? I know I have :-X

Not really, as a few years back, I found a great way to clear out all the junk.....

I keep thinking of having a clear out-albeit in a more long winded fashion than your method TB ::)-but then CBA kicks in and it stays put.
