Please does anyone in the Northants area have a Tech 2 I can borrow, or possibly buy if they don't need it anymore? I am hoping that it might help me diagnose my A/C problems and intermittent engine temp gauge.
Thank you.

TB has one in Brackley. :y

What are the symptoms?
Mine isn't for sale, and I don't usually lead them out, but I know from previous conversations you are near me.
Not much diags on AC - the pressure switches either read the correct pressure, or not. Or do you mean climate panel itself wonky? It so, state whats happening :y

Use climate panel and pressure valves from your breaker.
What are you ac problem
When you have ac on Low, do the fans run?
Also does the compressor keep cutting in?
Do the pipes into the bulk head get hot or cold.
Also check under battery tray as pipes are prone to leak there

Thanks for the suggestions, I have borrowed a UV lamp to check for leaks tomorrow. If it's not genuinely low pressure then I think we've isolated it to the pressure switch, which is a new Delphi one. I had hoped that perhaps a Tech 2 might have been able to test some of the other inputs. We temporarily looped the pressure switch, and the clutch engages when AC is switched on from the dash.
The TIS diagrams have helped to understand what all the inputs are.

With the help of a UV lamp and yellow glasses, there is evidence of a leak from the condensor where is joins the pipework (despite passing the vac test >:(), so the rad and coolant with have to come out again and another new seal located and fitted. Let's hope that fixes it.

When refitting the nitrile seals in the condenser block, ensure the block goes up square,, a Vac test isn't much good, better off doing a nitrogen pressure test, at about 8-10psi, and see if it holds. Putting UV in with the pressure test is also a good idea. If your getting no AC in the cabin and system is okay, sounds like expansion valve, located up behind glove box, badtid job but doable without taking dash out.

Would argon work? We've got loads of that, I imagine so long as it is bottled, inert and doesn't contain moisture, it should be OK?

That I wouldn't know.
