Hi, can anyone tell me what the hose is attached to the bottom of the pas reservoir, it starts off rubber then goes in to a metal coupling then on to a long plastic pipe that comes all the way round the front of the engine. Mine has perished at the rubber part, does anyone have a way of repairing it or do I have to buy the whole part. I’ve tried using the number stamped on it but no luck.
Thanks

The rubber hose is a standard size(I don't remember which) available off the reel from anywhere that makes hydraulic hoses. You remove the hose from your car, buy a length, and cut off the crimped fittings using a Dremel. Push the new piece of hose over the barbs, and clamp in place with good quality, correctly sized Jubilee clips. Refit, refill and bleed.
This isn't a high pressure part of the system(although this repair works there too), but you do need to use hose that's oil resistant. The ATF in your PAS is mostly hydraulic oil with red dye.
When I did this to mine, the bloke behind the counter asked for a donation into their charity tin as it wasn't worth charging you for that little piece

Thanks Nick, sounds simple......

It occurs to me that I did an improvised, temporary repair(on Sunday afternoon for an MOT booked for Monday morning) from a piece of normal garden hose. That should give you some idea of the size you need, as garden hose certainly isn't oil resistant!
