i purchased a car which had a diamond brite paint warranty. last week i noticed on the rear o/s wheel arch a bit of lacquer peel. its about the size of a thumb nail. i am a bit worried if when it goes for a wash the peeling gets worse. i contacted the dealer that i bought the car from but they told me to get in touch with diamond brite. did so, but i expected them to say take it to a place near to me & get it assessed & rectified near to where i live, but not so. they want to see a photograph. i took a couple but with the shine of car its hard to spot.

That sounds like a fob off :-\
If it was part of the purchase, then technically it forms part of the car...
Go back to the dealer.
Needs a bit more info really such as if thecar was purchased new/where from...
An approved used should have a paint section of the warranty.

How is a fancy polish(which is what all the fancy marketing wank comes down to) going to prevent lacquer peeling? That's caused by how well(or not!) the paint was applied.

It only coves for paint fade and bird poop burns (if removed within 7 days):
It also comes with a guarantee which gives cover against colour fading, as well as from damage caused by bird droppings if washed off within 7 days.
No cover for paint or lacquer issues. :-\

Given how much some[at least]dealerships charge for supplying/applying the stuff it should withstand a house falling on it :D Despite what they may tell you it is available quite cheaply and there is no particularly great skill needed to apply it.
