I think you mean the door solonoid.

Door latch is the big metal piece on B pillar,

Or the actual lock mechanism...

Part no he quoted is solonoid :y

Sorry guys I completely ballsed that up.
I need the entire lock mechanism and also the solenoid that sits at the bottom of it.
Both are buggered

This is not the correct one but you get the drift.

Probably find it's the solonoid, you need to find the problem, is it when remote is pressed door doesn't lock, or can't be opened by using the handle
-
At first when you locked the car via the fob all 4 doors would lock and the drivers door would unlock again immediately.
This continued for about 6 weeks and then the drivers door would not close flush.
When you physically pushed it closed it just wasnt catching and securing on the latch.
I literally cannot drive it at the moment as the door swings open at any given moment so Im off the road because of this :-\
-
Sounds like you need the locking mechanism, not the solonoid.

I've got 09174595. Think it's a rear.

Many thanks mate but I need a drivers side front unfortunately

I may have a complete facelift front right hand latch mechanism, but no solenoid (motor). I will check today if that is any use to you.
-
That would be an absolute lifesaver if you have mate.
I can source a solenoid separately.
The main thing is being able to close the door properly because I literally cant drive it until I can do that

Have you tried moving the 'bear claw' part of the latch that actually engages on the staple on the bodywork? It's not unusual to find that they can get stuck in the closed position, and some manipulating can get them to work again. Copious amounts of solvent cleaner, then lubricant would be a good idea to reduce it reoccurring.
If the latch is loose and not locking into place, then you will need to replace the whole mechanism.
The solenoid continually operating could be the internal microswitch at fault - the forum favourite - or a short in the door wiring loom which was what was actually wrong with mine.

I have now found my spare drivers door catch mechanism. I removed it from the original door on my 2001 Elite when I fitted a used complete replacement driver door.
If it is of interest to you, please pm me.

I managed to source a replacement mechanism which also has the attached solenoid so I am thankfully now sorted.
Many thanks for your time and effort its greatly appreciated :y

No problem. Glad you are now sorted.
