Title: 2.2 not geting heat inside
Post by: Keith ABS on 16 October 2020, 09:47:09
  Hi all,
Mate has just bought 2002 2.2.
Everything working except does not get warm inside
AC icy cold, all blowers working, just no heat from heater
Any pointers?

Blocked heater matrix.
You could try flushing it(there's a guide) but I find all that does is make a small improvement.
A new matrix is cheap at about £20, but fitting it is not a nice job. There's a guide for that too.
The heater should provide lots of hot air as soon as the car warms up.

HBV is vac controlled, can't remember which way round .. but I recall having to disconnect the vac line from the HBV and block it with a small screw, leaving the HBV side open to atmosphere, until I changed a vac control valve... but don't recall if that was to get heat or turn off heat !! .... might be worth a fiddle with the vac line .. :)
