Title: Blaupunkt CDC2 changer / player
Post by: 009phantom01 on 16 November 2020, 20:39:14
hi all -  I own a  1999  3.0l elite saloon and about 12 months ago the original / standard  Blaupunkt CDC2  changer /player gave up as it just wouldnt "read " and play  cd,s any longer ( it was powering up all ok !)   so, i,m now  looking to fit / replace the  original  standard , Blaupunkt  CDC2  CD player/changer  -with a like-for-like  model  ( as i would hope  to keep the car in standard and original  trim as much as possible )  but there seems to be a varying amount of different (??)  CDC2 players  about and i have read  about and  been told (rightly or wrongly ??)  that there is a bit of confusion and  only a certain few examples of the CDC2 changer / player  that are actually a   compatible replacement  and that will only work correctly ( if at all ) in the  Omega - so i,m really unsure  about the whole subject  and was wondering , has anyone in the group  ever tried  fitting a replacement and been successful ?- or has  anyone any  experience  or knowledge / information  about the subject ??-   I have trawled the "net" and found a few good used  CDC2 examples  but  before i part with my money ,I want to be sure  i,m buying the right,  example of a cdc2 player/ changer that will work and is fully compatible - any guidance /advice  would really be  greatly appreciated and most welcome as I just  dont want to take the risk of buying a complete "lemon " that, when fitted, doesnt work -  thanking you all in anticipation

P/N 91155718 ident FA & FB - Not for use with HU Car telephone
P/N 91155636 ident FC & FD - For use with HU Car telephone

So it depends which HU you have.

If it's a mini facelift it'll be either a car400/ccr600 without phone or a ccrt700 with built in phone.
Pretty sure I've got one of each if you want one.
John.

Most MY98 Elites (W last letter in VIN) came with CCR800 HU, most 99MY Elites (X last letter of VIN) came with CCRT700

So for OP, HU with integrated phone is CCRT700, HU without integrated phone is CCR800

I realised that shortly after posting but this stupid forum only gives you about 60 seconds to edit your post and I also had no doubt someone would come along and gleefully point out the error for me 😀.

That's why you're only allowed 60 secs to edit. That's so others can take the piss if you get it wrong. ;)
