Hi.
My Omega acted weird a few days ago.
I had just started moving after a couple of hours parked and I had to stop at a semaphore.
Then right after stopping all the lights in the gear lever started blinking at the same time and the "there is some malfunction in the car" indicator appeared in the dash.
I just stopped the engine and started it again. No ignition. Tried again and it worked. The dash indicator was gone and the car has worked normally ever since. I did a 200+ km trip after that and haven't touched the car since monday.
I've checked the error with the tool and it said it had registered (in the "Not present" state) the code P0705 "( 8 ) Automatic Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction".
The transmission oil was changed a couple of weeks ago. How much should I worry?
TIA

Selector switch needs cleaning. There is a guide :y

There used to be a how2 in the maintenance section on how to remove and clean it. The piece about removing it and opening it to clean it is missing.
But someone will explain how to do it.

Two bolts hold it to the transmission casing and then you just flip the metal cover off the switch and undo the ten (IIRC) Torx screws to remove the cover. clean up the contacts, put the armature back in the same place and reverse the process.

ISTR the guide was by KW. If so he can probably repost it. :y

Good to know. Thank you all.
Is the guide available through archive.org or something like that?
