Title: Its getting further away!
Post by: TheBoy on 05 December 2020, 17:22:09
A parcel I ordered, allegedly from a UK warehouse, a week ago finally showed up on UPS' tracking site on Thursday, and was in Nottingham (presumably flown into East Mids from jolly foreigner land).

This morning its in Preston.

Its getting further away from me ;D

Herpes courier has just knocked on my door. According to the website they are 'waiting for your parcel to be collected'  ::)

IIRC  :-\
There's a subroutine on most parcel computer systems along the lines of ......

10 INPUT "ENTER consignment destination" ;A
15 if A<>"Brackley" goto 40
20 If A="Brackley" goto 30
30 PRINT "WARNING **EXPLOSIVE BLAST ZONE ** SEND PARCEL ELSEWHERE ** anywhere but NOT Brackley **  "
40 PRINT "SEND PARCEL TO CORRECT LOCATION"

Well, there is a Brackley near Inverness. And it wouldn't be the first time...   ...no need to ask how I know.

Currently still stuck in Preston.

I ordered a pair of jeans last year.  Because I have 2 addresses, I somehow put the address I wanted it to go to, but with the wrong postcode.
The tracking with the post office went around and round.
In a phone conversation with the post office, it was clear that if I hadn't put a postcode on, it would have eventually been delivered, but if the post code didn't match the address. It would end up in Belfast, and be eventually returned to the sender.
On emailing the vender, they just sent another pair to the correct address with correct postcode, which arrived the next day.  I asked them to let me know when they eventually got it back.
2 months.
