Hi, I would like to swap 3.2 to my 2.6 using the 3.2 ECU, can op com change the 3.2 ECU to manual? Or only with tech2?
Thanks!
-
Only Tech 2.
But not required.
Your 2.6 ecu will run it. ;)
Oh, you'll also need the front half of the drive shaft as they're a different length iiirc ;)
You don't even need to change the loom unless the sensors are different.
Literally plug and play plus the clutch pedal and plumbing :y

Yes I know my 2.6 ecu will run it, but this time, I like to do perfect. My car is manual, so I guess what you say about the transmission and the pedal is not necessary right?

In that case, just throw the 3.2 engine* in and call it done :y
* the only thing to swap would be the flywheel and spigot bearing from the 2.6.
No programming required ;)
If you insist on fitting the 3.2 ecu then you need the key chips and transponder ring to match the 3.2 ecu, which is extra hassle ;)

Perfect :y
I don,t have access to tech 2, could someone do the manual conversion of the 3.2 ECU?

Can you read?
Use the 2.6 ecu, transponder and chip. That way the car still matches the car pass if you lose your keys.
Reprogramming the 3.2 ecu to manual is a waste of time and money.

What do you mean if I can read? What other option is there?

You need Tech2 and GlobalTis software
This is my film on YT. I swaped automatic gearbox on manual gearbox in my Opel Omega 3.2
My film have a polish language and polish interface in Tech2 and GlobalTis

Or you could not bother... The auto ecu works just fine with a manual box. No warning lights or loss of performance if used in a factory manual.
If in a factory auto converted to manual, then you might want to remove the gearbox fuse and gearbox ecu...
although running the engine loom from a factory 2.6/3.2 manual helps as the ecu cannot see a gearbox failure error (from the gearbox being removed) because the pins on the engine ecu plug aren't populated. (the auto box connects to its own ecu through the engine ecu and a third body loom plug).
Linky fixed

I forgot to add:
- I reprogrammed the abs pump controller under 3.2 manual (Tech2)
- I disconnected and took out the automatic transmission control unit
- I removed the automatic transmission controller from the engine ECU (communication via the CAN line) (Tech 2)
- I converted the cable harness from the automatic transmission to the manual transmission.

Sure? I have seen people who gave them problems, they did not go as well and they would turn on the fault light until I solve it
As for running 3.2 with 2.6 ECUs, I am currently running like this but long term fuel trims are high :-\

You again forget to mention running on lpg...

Ahora mismo no, 3.2 has not yet worked with lpg

The 3.2 Manual ECU does run a different Map over the 3.2 Auto ECU, but as said it will run on a 3.2 Auto, 2.6 Auto and Manual ECUs, but and from experience there is a but, without the correct Manual 3.2 ECU or at least getting a 3.2 Auto Tech 2 to a Manual configuration, there is a chance you wake up one day and find the car will refuse to start due to weird Fault Codes, which basically means the ECU can't see the Auto Gearbox.

That is to say, that the ecu 3.2 can execute a time in manual without problems until it fails or is there ecu 3.2 that despite putting it in manual with Tech2 after a while it will fail?
Sorry if I have not understood it correctly from the translator

Zirk is saying you may have problems running a manual with an auto ECU, but if you configure it to manual with a Tech2, all should be fine. And vice versa, I'm guessing.
