Title: daft question??
Post by: craig on 03 September 2008, 20:56:11
I need to pick up my sons new quad up from birmingham and i havent got a towbar, van, estate so i was wondering whether it is legal to drive without a passenger seat in my car as the quad is 2inchs too long with the seat fully slid and tilted forward ::)width and height no problem :y

From a cop stop viewpoint, i forsee no problems, in the grand scheme of things, provided the quad is properly secured and does not interfere with the safe operation of the driving/steering controls by yourself.

Whether the insurance company agrees, should there be a future claim, thats a question best answered by them....

If it was street legal i'd be tempted to drive it back......could be good fun  :y

Theres a few in Swindon i see zooming about the roads......got number plates, so guess they are street legal.....and i dont think you have to wear a crash helmet......as 4 wheels.

Tho depends on its top speed tho i guess  ;D ;)
