Title: Offence
Post by: Sir Tigger KC on 27 January 2021, 22:36:42
Three stories about offence caught my eye today.  ::)

Firstly this story from the Daily Mail tells a sad tale about how a property maintenance company in South Wales was refused a coronavirus grant because it's name Handymen was gender discrimination.  ::)

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9192355/Maintenance-firm-called-Handymen-refused-business-grant-council-gender-discrimination.html

Secondly, this one from the BBC is not so tragic but quite amusing really.  ;D

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-55827981

And thirdly, some might be offended, but most would have a chuckle!  :)

It's an oppsed up world, and quite sad that any of those things are newsworthy.

Ok, the first item is a sign of the times. The second is the sort of amusing annecdote that local news does best. The third is quite tragic that someone would do that for attention.

One of my work colleagues is forever sending Faceachebook pictures and videos, occasionally there's the odd hilarity, some of the memes are pure brilliance, but some of the videos should never have been recorded, let alone put on the internet :-\

The BBC have rightly got a lot of stick for describing the funeral of an IRA terrorist as the funeral of an IRA veteran.   >:(

They apologised and changed it to IRA man which will surely piss off the woke crowd for being gender specific or something.  ::)

There is no more heinous crime in 2021 than being 'gender specific' and it is rightly being deleted from history by woke individuals who are here to save the world from heathens. :)

Look at this, I've never been more offended in my life. The government should be ashamed of themselves

As a kid my sister asked Santa for a 'play oven' and very very happy with it. She also had a 'play iron' and 'play ironing board' which she used  when watching her mum doing the ironing for real. She was a very happy child.

I asked for a very loud cap gun like John Wayne would use. I also asked for a Commando style plastic knife with a retractable blade so it really looked as though you were stabbing people. ;D I was a very happy child.

Life was so much more simple back then. :)

I guess the nearest you get to Newmarket is Swaffum and Burwell.  Because if you made it into Newmarket, your Gaydar would be going mental.

It's a sad world that they've had to essentially remove the hamlet from the map because of all the arsehole tourists stealing anything with the name on it >:(
