Title: Overcrowding.

A crash in El Centro California between an SUV and a gravel truck has resulted in 15 people being killed.14 died at the scene and a further one died in hospital.All told there were 27 people in the SUV :o :o :o

Quite possibly as I believe El Centro is quite close to the Mexican border.

A year 2000 ish Ford Expedition, seats 8 or 9 people , NOT 27  :P

Perhaps it was a stretched SUV ........... a very overcrowded stretched SUV.    :-\

with 3 times the number of occupants that it was designed for ,the brakes won't have coped well. and the driver's view of the road was probably compromised  :-\
Very common in Africa to ram as many people as possible onto a matatu ( a bus the locals use ) an experience I probably won't try again  :D

I've been to El Centro a few times (big US Navy Airfield there). The area has lots of remote farms with very large fields, and the farmworkers are often transported around in the back of a flatbed truck or pickup truck.
