Starting with easy/cheap/no tools required:

Has it had any work done before the fault?

Are there any extra lights on the dash?

Is the fuel rail full of pressurised fuel when the engine stalls?

Does the fuel pump sound any different?

Next:

Use a code reader. for stored codes.

Use a code reader for the live data from crank/cam/MAF/throttle sensors

Check the fuel pump relay is working properly; swapping it with one of the others will do

How much fuel is in it? If it wasn't much then drain what's left and replace with fresh. Modern fuel does not stay usable for long

There's a valve on the fuel rail for testing the pressure.
