I wonder what wee jimmy Sturgeon thinks of this?

Petrified of having her vote split I should imagine. Similar position to Cameron with UKIP a while back.

Not at all, as the Scottish parliament elections don't use first past the post, but a kind of hybrid proportional representation system designed by Tony Blair's Labour Government so no party would ever dominate Scottish politics. ::)
People get two votes. One constituency vote which is first past the post, and a second regional list vote. As I understand it most of the SNP's MSP's come from the constituency votes. Salmond's Alba Party are only going to stand candidates in the 'List Vote' and are more likely to take votes from the Scottish Greens, and he may end up as 'King/Queenmaker' where he could be in a position to be a junior coalition partner with the SNP. He may get his revenge on Wee Krankie yet! :)

I'm starting to think that Mr Alex and Ms Sturgeon are no longer best friends. ::)

My belief is that it makes the the situation much worse for those of us that wish to retain the Union.

Yes I think you are right Don.
Salmond has attracted much derision from the main parties today in the MSM, where they have attacked his character and suitability for office, but he already has his first MP at Westminster with former Justice Minister Kenny MacAskill defecting from the SNP and I wouldn't be surprised if Joanna Cherry switches before the election either. ???

I didnt know any of that stuff about Sottish politics. Sounds bizarre. ::)

If, big If, Scotland actually succeeds in getting a referendum and if the vote goes the way of independence, Sturgeon thinks she will just walk the country back into the EU. I think she's forgotten just how against that Spain would be.
-
And we would have to build a Trump wall along the border. Otherwise anyone who wanted to would fly to Scotland and then just get a bus/ taxi /walk into England.
If they couldnt just walk back into the EU what currency would they use ?
And there is the small matter of how the country would finance itself.
Its pie in the sky.

Agreed. The silent, sensible majority will stay silent right up until they mark their ballot paper.
Much water under the bridge before then, though.

King has got no clothes on stuff. I wonder what Nicola says in answer to “ what is Scotlands share of National debt “?
-
I predict her reply would be £0.00 :)

^^This!^^ ::)
I follow a couple of Indy bloggers and common themes are:- Scotland is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, England will be fuked without Scotland, Scotland subsidies England, Scotland will not be liable for any of the National Debt as it's England's debt, the EU will welcome us back with open arms, when Scotland is free, she can take full advantage of her natural resources, free of the dead weight of England..... etc etc etc

0.0€ surely.

0.0€ surely.
Oh, no. We and the EU are going to agree to allow them to use the pound, apparently. :D

The Scottish pound is worth about the same as the Euro :-X
