Got a problem where the drivers door keeps coming unlatched. Tried adjusting the keep on the pillar. . . No difference. Thinking it may be wear on the actual latch part fitted into the door. Any advice please

Set fire to your car and report back. ;D ;D

Probably the best way out Steve ;D

I can almost guarantee you'll have no further problems with it, Al ;D

Someone else on here had exactly the same issue last year, which was only resolved by fitting a good used door mechanism. That's if you decided against setting fire to it.... ;D

I had trouble with drivers one, there is a thinish bit of plastic in the casing with the rubber bump stop that cracks and breaks interfering with the latch. by the time you have taken lock of to "fix" it fitting a good used one would be best .

Lol, that's like a Jeremy Clarkson fix, hit it with a hammer and report back!

OK who's got a spare one.?
Gonna post up in wanted 8)
Can anyone post up a pic of how it fits in . Assume its door card off and cuts /damage to hand fitting it in and out :'(

Usual failure mode is corrosion wear caused by water draining over it where the rear edge of the window weather strip tears from the back edge of the door.
Replacement is the only cure, and is an identical process to swapping out the lock motor.
Best bet is to buy from a LHD country (front passenger door then and less use/wear) as they are like rockinghorse poo. Obviously unique to that door.
Lubricate the living daylights out of the replacement before fitting it. And test everything before replacing the interior trim. :y

If purchasing a replacement from a " LHD country" remember that Carltons where called opel Omega
so make sure it's a part for omega B ;) and these LHD people also get in the wrong side to drive :P
