Title: Autodoc Parts Website Ridex discs and pads
Post by: Malcolm_D on 04 May 2021, 09:44:03
Anyone used this website for parts? Prices for Ridex discs appear to be very low, anyone know if they are any good?

My observation was in regards to the stupidly low price rather than the company as a whole.  :y

They have some pretty handy how tos on YouTube  :y

In theory any type approved part should be fit for purpose, but if you have to change discs and pads every 3k, it's a false economy ;)

Also I’ve found Autodoc very good to deal with, only drawback is it takes 7 to 10 days to get the parts.

Just an update on these Ridex pads... they are at least as good if not better than the original/Padgid/and Brembo which I have fitted previously to this car I can’t believe it for the price they cost 🥜

Wait until you have a few thousand miles and a couple of high speed emergency stops on them.

And more. 21 days last time I ordered off them. Never again.

Don’t worry they have been tested very well, although I will update again in the future (if they still stop me😂😂)

For the first time trying out Autodoc and found them very straightforward to deal with for a Bosch sensor.

It was going to be delivered today, 5 days after ordering, but I have put that off until tomorrow as I was out today ;)

Yep, following my previous post, Autodoc did very well, with the  genuine Bosch crank senor delivered and a perfect match for my life expired one.

The packaging was good and reflected the fact it is a genuine product by Bosch.

Earlier in the week I made the mistake of ordering the same part from what I thought was a separate German company, but in fact it was Autodoc.  But it was not a problem to cancel and today I received a full refund.

So, all in all, they can be considered a good company to deal with, but not forgetting some of their customers complain strongly about the time it takes for them to deliver.  I can only say I did not have that problem ;)

To be fair we sometimes have trouble with our own postal service, why should Fritz be any better😂

Indeed, and the Autodoc parts have to go through customs, then be transferred to a U.K. carrier, Parcelforce, from the European one GLS, which actually is owned by our Royal Mail Group. That takes time.  ::) ;D ;D ;)

Absolutely no different to something coming from the US (and all the faff that apparently entails) ;D

I had an issue with an item I bought from Autodoc, and needed to return it.  It was then that I realised that they don't really exist.

Not heard of Ridex. And that probably should be ringing enough alarm bells to look elsewhere.

As I’ve said, I’ve fitted Ridex front pads to my Omega and they are proving to be very good. Are you doubting me? ... punk?

I have carbotech xp10 fitted to the front of my Evo2. They’re £250 a set :y.... they work, 400 plus bhp/torque 1150 kg it takes some stopping, took a while to find the very best, I know my brake pads. I have tried them all👍 I’ll say it again RIDEX ARE FINE. (At least for any Omega).

On my Omegas, I averaged about 6k from a set of pads.  Which is an improvement from an old work provided Escort van, where I averaged 3.5k.

So I do demand good brakes ;D
