erm thought we had?  not auction style though

The stuff that currently gets bought / sold has caused enough probs without adding to it.

Dont see why we cant advertise anything in the bits for sale bit.

Prob not a very wide audience though

We perhaps have enough fun and games in that section with omega parts and non delivery etc rather than also opening it up to the range of things that also appear on e-bay....  Its being discussed in the mod section though....   :y

Oh i dunno i think its a good idea...several forums i go on have thriving sale sections and lets be honest who better too buy from than a trusted memeber. :y

Hotel21 has pretty much summed up my personal feelings, but we are discussing our 'official oof' view amongst the admin team

IMHO this is, and should remain, a FORUM with a small sales/wants section ... it should not become a sales board with a small forum.. :(

Now and again, slipping below the radar, is one thing but regular and accepted appearances of assorted items for sale is completely another, fraught with difficulty and danger, in my opinion.

As previously listed, this is the Omega Owners Forum, not a free for all garage sale type site....   ;)

My feeling is that this thread and this other one, next door in the list right now, are partners:
Name and shame...... (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1220402194)
It's a good idea, but it will cause problems I think.

Could be something that another member who knows about running websites might volunteer for. But to be run in parallel, like the OOF shop.

I think -- if we occassionally have something for sale that we genuinely believe other members might be interested in, it's fair to give first shout in General Chat --- no long winded descriptions or details, just the heads up. Then, if anyone is interested they can email or PM and conduct business privately, without dragging the forum or admin into possible disputes.

Trouble is, it will end up causing grief imho.  There is a good site for selling such items to a massive audience, called ebay ;)

Ebay is a good concept, very well run considering the issues they hit, and I've had some good bargains, and made some decent pocket money.

Just stick away from eGay - you know, the sections where people buy/sell problem items like mobiles/laptops and other high value electronic items.
