Normally I defend my own gender come what may, as we have problems in our lives such as husbands, children, a multitude of domestic issues and,yes of course, that time of the month that can make us seem on occasions as being quite unstable if not positively insane!! ::) ::) :D ;)
However, is it just me that come across so many miserable, inpolite and damn right bitchy women who happen to be driving 4x4's, especially BMW X5's in supermarket car parks? >:( >:(
Yet again today I encountered another women who had placed her bloody big vehicle right on the wrong side of the "road" and blocked my exit from the space I was in. She decided to get all upset and pissy when I forced her to move to let me out! ::) >:( >:( >:(
If these woman cannot handle big machines (and I am a woman fully experienced at driving large vehicles) then why do they? I have seen them all too often getting all agitated because they find it so difficult to manoeuvre large 4x4's, and start arguments with other drivers especially in car parks but also outside schools. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
If they can afford 4x4's they should be able to afford a smaller, sensible, car for going around town to avoid their own frustrations. ::) ::) ::) ::) :y
It is either them or their husbands who are Bloody Minded Wxxkers! >:( >:( >:( >:(
Aggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
Rant over, and feel so much better for it! :D :D ;)

Yup. Nuff said ;D ;D ;D

Agreed Lizzie ..Even some of them get lost in drivers seat and invisible from normal cars ;D
-
IMHO its not just women who can't handle these cars .. many idiotic blokes seem to have trouble parking them correctly as well
:(
-
Sorry Lizzie but not many women can park small cars let alone huge 4 by 4.
I once had to help a woman reverse her Astra out of a car parking space in Sainsbury's. Poor lamb could not find reverse.
But for all their faults the world would be a much poorer place without the ladies.............especially on those cold winter nights. :y :y

Just proves my point...said it before say it again....

The thing that bugs me about the whole 4x4 thing is this superiority thing. I'm driving around in my BMW X5, Merc (whatever!), Audi Q8 which means I'm far more superior to you and can park/drive like a idiot >:( Let's face it, how often do you see these type of cars use their indicators? I guess they're far to engrossed in getting them from A to B to bother with such menial things as indicators (which isn't for your benefit let's face it, it's for other road users-selfishness again!)
Lizzie it's nice to hear a lady gnashing her teeth over these things, it's obviously not just us blokes :y

Of course you could always be a trendsetter and do your own thing (and drive an Omega).

.. or do your shopping in a proper tractor. I guess if you turned up in a John Deere it wouldn't matter if they got out of your way or not. ;D

My cousin has a John Deere and through Truro he occasionally beats cars and vans when not loaded (market there).
His tractor will do about 30 - his newest I think is a V6, he says that on the Truro Falmouth route there are very few places to pull in* so just has to go flat out, but once on a DC he used the overtaking lane to pass a slower tractor!
* Basically Playing Place

When I travel I see a lot of women in huge 4x4.
Must say that they never really appealed to me. Lived and worked in Surrey some years ago ,plenty of chelsea tractors down there ,many on private plates. :-* :-*

What I have noticed is when they are overtaking parked vehicles they dont seem to have a clue of the distance from the parked car always way over the center of road on one or two tight roads of late I have nearly had to drive in the kerb coming other way.... at one time in my old yuky Granada Scorpio (ran well to be fair) wouldnt pull over in that wanted it writing off hehehe so held my ground had some very near misses with the big 4x4 lumps ::) ::)

A very quick swerve in their direction at a suitable distance from themis normally enough to move them back to their side of the road...... apparently. ::)

Cars on my hitlist in order of most hated:
1. BMW X5
2. BMW X4
3. BMW X3
4. Mercedes Benz M-Class
5. Audi Q7
6. Audi Q6
7. Audi Q5
Anyone noticing a pattern there? Funnily enough, I've only ever seen a bloke drive one of those once. It was an X5. The guy looked like a cock.
As with caravans, 4x4's should all be blown up/dropped from a crane/submerged permanently/burried/launched into space.
Unless of course, you actually live in a rural area where you might need to... god forbid... go offroad.

There are quite a few Volvo XC90's(?) around our place too, almost universally driven by middle aged women down the middle of the road.
I think the theory is that they are safer for the sprogs they have on board, and sod anyone else who gets in the way.. >:(

Indeed I have had many a near miss with some stupid cow in a huge 4x4 in country lanes. Then they have the bloody cheek to give me 'daggers' as I have been struggling to keep my car out of a ditch as they stick to the middle of the road! >:( >:( >:(
Yes, as I stated at the start of my thread, I will often back my own gender come what may, but in the case of these huge 4x4's woman (and men?) should be made to take an additional driving test in them as you do for a HGV!! :D :D ;) I say that as a women who has driven thousands of miles in vans, lorries (alright only 7.5 tonners!) and a 52 seater road coach, let alone a million miles+ in cars, so I think I am well qualified to have an opinion about these stupid idiotic, often stuck-up bloody cows! >:( >:( >:( >:(
Grrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhh! Rant still continuing as I had yet another encounter with one in Sainsbury's Supermarket yesterday!!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
NB in the car park that is! Who knows one day it may be inside the supermarket after one has completely lost it!! ;)
-
these 4x4 drivers have something in common : all have the nose up ;D

Yup, then you'd buy a Landrover or if you were being extravagant a Range Rover ;D

I've never understood the safety angle? They're heavier, take longer to stop, and are more likely to roll - i know technology has moved on in all aspects of design but a lot of these 4x4 are basically agricultural vehicles - completely unsuited to handling speed.
On a side note - my big sis has a Disco - took the wing mirror off a white van the other day - I asked how it happened she said - and I swear this is true -
"it was his fault he didn't pull over enough when I was overtaking him."
I swear she used to be a decent driver when she running around in Golfs and clits :-[
