I wonder if it got MOTed over the phone for a few years to get that bad :D
-
I don't know what's worse... The rust, or standing under the car whilst pulling chunks off the jacking point :-\
-
Was it a JDM car? The underseal certainly didn't look factory.
Crusty imports are very common; I've seen a couple of imported Previas that the semi-trailing arms had rotted through, and broken whilst being driven :o

Looks like someone's sprayed underseal over rust thinking that'll do it, only to find crusty pastry flakes a few years later. I only use underseal on a new welded section, even then it can rust out in a few years, zinc coated steel a bit better for resisting rust.

i always use galvanised now.done far too many quick repairs over the years in normal or zintec that have ended up needed doing again after 5 -10 years.easier to just do it properly once.

Looks like its been pulled out of a swamp or a written off vehicle from a flood damaged area that's " resurfaced' 😁

thats the thing. no way can a proper mot be passed one year and then all that happen 12 months later.any car found in such condition should be traced back to the last mot station and investigated.i had never heard of "over the phone mots "until a while back and cannot beleive this can actually be happening.
as ive no doubt mentioned before ! the country is going to pieces !

Every day I see vans (and buses) spewing out black smoke. That's supposed to be a failure too.
