Never a good sign when your engine parts make a bid for freedom out of the sump. ;D

That looks broken.

think back 30 years to what 'we' were doing in car parks with RS Turbos and Cosworth Sierras. The only difference is that modern engines are much higher stressed, and tend to fail catastrophically - like the self-ejecting conrods in this video of a V8 M3

.. except it was my Mum's Volvo 340 GL. Bar the odd jolly, we didn't graduate to decently powerful cars until we'd matured enough to drive them safely. Or, at least, not suicidally.
As for the video, perhaps he'll learn some mechanical sympathy during his lengthy contemplation while on the bus as he's saving up for the engine rebuild. Bounce an engine off the rev limiter for minutes on end with the oil sloshing everywhere but the pickup pipe and it puts a leg out of bed. Who'd have thought it? :D

How about YouTube
Thanks :y

To be fair the 2.0 8V SEH in my CalibrE did exactly that at 4000 RPM on the way home from work on a Friday afternoon. On the Runcorn Bridge. Most of the starter motor was destroyed by a con rod on its way out of the side if the block.
I wasn't ragging that.
-
Done a 2.5 triumph pi and a Corsair 1500 gt on the motorway trying for that extra 1 mile an hour both threw rods☹️ My old man wasn’t happy at all during my early years of car ownership he was regularly fetching me from somewhere or towing me home😂
-
Mine was often fetching me to / from hospital or court. ;D
-
What? In between the towing🤣
-
If it needed towing he would tell me to push it, or get a bus home. ;D
When I hit a Police car in Dublin they took me to the station and then phoned him in Belfast to speak about the legalities etc.(I think the car was registered in his name.)
He said " If he,s old enough to drive a car he,s old enough to sort out his mess", and hung up.
The gentle, sensitive type, he was not. ;D
-
My old man was really fed up of me, he give me a tow over Aberdare mountain one day I was in a minivan and he was towing me with his Hunter GLS Jesus that was one of the scariest rides I have ever had even made me think whether to ask him ever again👀
