Title: MV6 Autobox hard shift.Fault code
Post by: gavlar001 on 29 August 2021, 19:51:53
Hi all hope everyone is doing well.On my Mv6 2.6 i have noticed that it is shifting hard between 2nd and 3rd. On OB2 fault code says P1625 short to earth and in the live data one of the shift solenoids 2 4 when in park and engine is running is active. Is that  the problem is a short on the casing inside the autobox on one of the solenoids causing it it shifts late and a bit hard.many Thanks Gavin. :-[

I think it was this P1625      1-2/3-4 shift - short circuit to battery solenoid valve.

Fluid and filter change, plus potential wiring/plug issue...

Solenoids easily changed with the filter out.

Thanks mate I've got a sump gasket and filter kit in the shed and a small drum of the correct atf. Sounds like I could change the solenoid while I'm in there and adjust the brake band setting as well.I will check the solenoids to see if they work. I presume it will be the 2-3 one.Might have to look at the solenoid wiring and the external loom into the box.Manually changing the gears should tell me I suppose
