Any ideas on getting a carbon pollen filter at a reasonable price.GM can get one from Germany for £43.00 I told them it might be better to buy a new car if thats the sort of price that they are charging for spares.
-
Needs to be carbon filter with electronic climate control ,but would of expected easy enough to buy sub £20 even of fleagay....bosch or meyle would be my choices ...think mine fitted is bosch as tend to replace every year or so

The Crossland filters themselves seem to be fine, so under £3 seems a bargain. Probably means they're discontinuing supply, ceasing production, and are dumping the old stock.
-
The Crossland filters dont appear to be carbon activated? Or does the need for carbon no longer apply.
-
Looking at the euro site they claim that the crossland filter is carbon activated. I have ordered one but will be very surprised if that is true at that price.

I happen to have one, bought about three years ago. Back then looks like they were £13.50 each net of discount.
Mine is Crosland part # 507-72-0038. Filter is grey black colour like the activated carbon filters.
X-Ref label on the box says GM 91132362 which is the correct GM part number.
Also on the X-Ref, amongst others, is Mann CUK3059 which is correct for an activated carbon filter for an Omega according to the the Mann catalogue.
So providing ECP give you the correct part it should be fine.
-
I have also checked up on the part numbers - as Enceladus says, they are correct for the carbon filter for later cars with climate.
With a further discount code applied - you can't go wrong at £2.39 each for collection at store!
It would have been rude not to order one (well, a few actually...)
-
Yes I have ordered 2 should see me out :y
-
Good find and bargain :y
-
picked up my filters today the filters are speckled black And the box has a large black dot on it No mention of carbon however.List price £36.17 today £2.39 So all looks good.
-
Just fitted filter same no. C40276C as old one taken out but slightly different design new one has rubber seals which makes it a tight fit and I think means that it fits one way only.

Their designed to only flow air one way... ::)
Should have an arrow on it to indicate direction of airflow.
-
That is what I thought and I remember some time ago I had one with an arrow.I looked carefully for an arrow in the new one but there wasnt one.
-
And the filter I have replaced didnt have one either.
-
At least you know why they were £2.39 ;D
-
I think that we are maybe being a little hard on Crossland. The filter has a hinged plastic seal on the 2 side edges and a rubber seal on the base. The design would make it very difficult to fit one way as the hinges have to fold into the filter housing on fitting Fitting the easy way means that the darker side of the filter is facing towards the front or the car ie the first side to start filtration which I believe is correct An arrow showing direction is ok as long as you realise that this indicates air flow and not towards the front of the car,The seal achieved with this design is more positive than the loose fit of previous filters I have fitted.
-
Looking at several posts on the internet a fitting instruction in the box would save a lot of guess work .
-
I've never known Crossland to have arrows, on any car.
-
GM filters have the arrow with the word 'airflow' next to it... Bit tricky to screw up, even for the work experience bod :D
-
Do you agree that the carbon side goes on the entry side
-
On the GM ones, the open side of the flap faces upwards and they're an even colour on both sides.
I used to pay about a tenner for genuine carbon filters from my local dealer, so I have never fitted anything else.
