Looking for this rod, is it available somewhere else..., seems expensive. My present one is almost repairable.

You could make one from some threaded rod and a couple of ball joints as used in model aircraft linkages. But that's only a saving if you already have the parts; if you have to buy them then you might as well just buy the correct part.
I don't see a picture on that link, so you might want the actuating arm for the sensor. That's a simple chunk of metal with a couple of holes. If you have a 3D printer that would be another good way of making one

If you think that's expensive have you seen the shipping and small order costs £44 🤪
Petty sure I've got a couple but finding them may take some time.

Sure, Thanks, I try to find those ball joints, fig enclosed.

Like THESE (https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/wwwnormotecde?_trksid=p2047675.l2563)?
I would check the thread on the rod, and buy the appropriate(probably M5) joints.

OK, thanks, small thing but have to be repaired. Badly oxidized ball joints. Easy thing. M6 thread etc.

Exactly.
But if you could actually buy the correct part for £20 as the OP's link suggested, surely that would make more sense?
