My mate had one of the best excuses we'd ever heard for not returning to work on time after his holidays, he told us that he had terrible piles and that he was warned not to fly home as the air pressure may cause them to " explode" you can imagine everyone's reaction to that story..

Perhaps you should send a message to Boris suggesting everybody who refuses the vaccine should be held down by 3 large blokes and given it against their will.
Children, pregnant women, old people. Pin them all down. Forget freedom of choice it was never a problem in North Korea or the old USSR.

It's all very well making it compulsory to wear a mask but who is going to police it ? We went into Sainsbury's yesterday wearing our makes & there was a member of staff outside getting torrents of abuse from people refusing to comply, for £10 an hour they shouldn't have to put up with that nonsense. It's a hopeless task unfortunately.

we actually never stopped wearing them in shops and like to think we kept safe because of it.( it must help a little .both ways )
problem as mentioned is no one can police it and those that try get abuse.
theres not enough actual police around and even if there were would they be able to spend time on it .
eventually hopefully it will become compulsory (if not in the full poulation at least majority of employers) every bit helps and if the idiots get ill and cant get seen by a doctor then they may see the results of their selfish actions although i doubt it !

Previously infected, vaccinated people in South Africa are catching Omicron. But they are not seriously I'll, apparently.
I don't know what all of this means, but that doesn't matter. Neither do the opinions expressed by you on here matter. The government tells you what you should do, and you either do it or don't. You spent a lot of time at home during the last wave and, if people refuse to wear masks in crowded places, you'll be doing it again. Your choice.

that means there are not enough hospital beds for people who need non covid related treatment.

I have relatives with Cancer and other medical needs that are getting "hit and miss treatment" and waiting for appointments because selfish/stupid people don't follow the rules and wear a mask to stop the spread .
One day you might wake up when it is one or more of your friends or relatives dead ::)

We know 'almost' all children and the vast majority of adults under 60 will survive.
We also know the vast majority of the 1% are 'proper old' and usually have additional health issues. Many were already sitting in Gods waiting room. ::)
Catastrophizing by members of the public and the media doesn't help, and I note they just give the number of 'covid related deaths' but don't mention the age of the deceased. :y

No....I'm just not a drama queen.
I've done research into my family history. It is literally littered with children who died as infants, and many adults who did not make it past 40, usually because of consumption, or smallpox, or something equally nasty.
Most families suffered a similar death rates. So nothing unique to me.
I'm not going to worry myself too much about this. It will pass. It is far from the end of the world. :)

From what I understand viruses generally get more infectious as they mutate, but the effects of the illness get milder as the hosts immune systems adjust to deal with the threat, either through vaccination or previous infection.
For a virus to survive it has to stop killing its hosts. ;)

From what I understand viruses generally get more infectious as they mutate, but the effects of the illness get milder as the hosts immune systems adjust to deal with the threat, either through vaccination or previous infection.

As far as I am concerned people can choose to take it or not. Most vaccines are developed over a long period of time so I wouldn't blame anyone for not trusting a vaccine that was developed by boffins during their lunch break.
As for giving it to small kids..... :-\
Nobody should lose their job for choosing not to take it, and I feel sorry for the Care profession who have been thrown under the bus.
I won't be having a 3rd, 4th....or 27th jab.

and the point of concern with Omicrom is it's much quicker ability to spread
it can weaponize later in a further variant
if Covid can "mix" with the cold virus to become Omicron and evade vaccines and spread more rapidly then what is to stop it "mixing" or mutating with something else more deadly that we don't have a cure for :-\

As far as I am concerned people can choose to take it or not. Most vaccines are developed over a long period of time so I wouldn't blame anyone for not trusting a vaccine that was developed by boffins during their lunch break.

Fully vaccinated people can pass on Covid, but at a greatly reduced level as unvaccinated people. So when it comes to professionals in the health field dealing directly with patients, it IS a crucial point.
An NHS senior doctor said two weeks ago that he expected any health care professional to be fully vaccinated “qualified” as he was expected to be if they really wanted to look after patients. ;)

Rather than bleating about all the staff suddenly quitting, perhaps they would be better off genuinely respecting freedom of choice rather than merely claiming to.
After all, if someone in care is vulnerable and agrees to it, they should have as many jabs as they wish or require. If a carer chooses not to have a vaccine, that's on them.
Freedom of choice is always preferable to compulsion. This is what various governments and people hiding under mattresses are failing to grasp, let alone accept.

People have many reasons or concerns when deciding not to be vaccinated. It is entirely up to them. I know that many pregnant women or women hoping to become pregnant have their concerns.

How many people cannot have the vaccine for legitimate medical reasons? Should they be excluded from society? Or should they be allowed to live their lives freely within the vaccinated groups? What about those who could get their jabs because they weren't offered in their towns or villages? Or who couldn't attend their appointments for any number of reasons?
The approach gradually being rolled out across Europe is effectively a form of Apartheid and will eventually lead to genocide.

Your last is no surprise. My sinuses have been opposed since picking up an infection cleaning an aircraft toilet... Two weeks off work and two months on antibiotics.
Not to mention the number of needle injuries they sustain or the Islamabad flights when the men shit in the aisles because they won't use a toilet after a woman, or the vomit or the unbagged nappies or tampons... I could go on :-X

You are suggesting that we advocate the notion of coralling the vaccinated instead of the unvaccinated.
That makes no sense and is as utterly retarded as the notion that unvaccinated people should be imprisoned, or worse, banished.
The point is a simple one. People should have the basic human right to choose between being vaccinated or not.
That right of choice is completely separate from the question of whether it is a good idea or not. This is something that the fear mongers and mattress shelterers fail to grasp.
Judge someone on their reasons to be jabbed or not, but respect their right to choose.
You only need to read the comments on that Twitter link to see just how stupid people are. They focus on the jab itself instead of the joke about popping the Boris balloon.
I had my jabs mostly to facilitate the ability to travel freely. I will probably have the booster to ensure continuation of that ability rather than because I feel morally obligated to or because someone on the Internet thinks I should.
My last flu jab was in October 1994. I feel no compulsion or obligation to have another.

And my primary issue with mask wearing is the number of people who fail to grasp the basic concept of covering nose AND mouth. I actually want to say something to them as opposed to the non wearers. If you choose not to wear a mask where it is legally required that's on them, but that same 'courtesy' should extend to those who don't wear them properly.
