I have just been told that you now have to buy the covers to get the gasket! £445. Are there any good gaskets out there other than vauxhalls?
Cheers.
Dave.

For the V6s (and probably other models too) Victor Reinz were one of the main OE manufacturers ;)

If that's for the pair, then they've come down a bit... Was quoted £285 a side 16 years ago.
The official line is that you should renew both at the same time as new seals will only work if the covers are un warped. So worth confirming that your covers are true first.
If they are, then Victor Reinz is the way forward :y

I hope you told them you can get a whole omega for less than that.

even though the car passed its mot yesterday (ok now until jan 2023) i said it was only worth 50. I would still rather have it than a 29k electric mini. Better value

As Dr G says, Victor Reinz are the way to go, I paid less than £20 for a set and iirc they are OE for Mercedes :-\
