Title: Byron Westlake
Post by: dad1uk on 30 December 2021, 18:41:19
I'm sure a lot of you will remember Byron, don't think he has been very active of late on this site.
Sadly Byron passed away this morning, it was announced on a bus site he was involved in.
I have yet to find out what happened but send sincere condolences to his wife Pam.

As in Seth :-\

Certainly the name rings a bell, but the fog of time is a hazy one :'(

As in Seths Mate, from the Valleys, and worked on the trains?

That is a shock and a shame.  I have fond memories of him at the Newest meets, enjoying too much Doombar (from memory).

Our thoughts are with his lovely wife, Pamela "Aberystwyth"

Sorry to hear this sad news. If I've got the right person (Seth or Seths Mate), I met him at the Newent weekend and he made us feel most welcome.
Our condolences to his family.

That is very sad news indeed.  I met him once, but also spent much time on this forum communicating about road  coaches and buses that he obviously loved.  The bus thread is one of the longest, and is in the records of the OOF that STEMO correctly mentions, due to his great in-depth knowledge on the subject.

A wonderful man, and I send my condolences to his family.

Sentiment echoed here. Nice bloke.

He helped me get a very small part for my mini tractor from a seller not prepared to post overseas.

RIP Seth.

Really sorry to hear this. My condolences to Pam and his family. :(

Whilst no longer a regular contributor on here, he'd phone me from time to time and we'd catch up. You needed to be sat on a comfy chair when receiving a phone call from Byron. ;)

Rest in peace, "valleys".

Yes, a call with Valleys was an evening gone.  But I always came off the phone chuckling and smiling, much to the bemusement of Mrs TB, always asking "what are you smirking for".

RIP, friend.

Only just seen this.

Very sad news, had many a lengthy chat with Byron regarding Leyland 680s and the Gen1 DMUs running up the valley lines.

Thoughts are with Pam and the family
