exactly. why would you need one.just a gimmick.
our eyes dont have a problem looking at anything flat .in fact .theoretically if you are sat looking at a screen which is curved wouldnt your eyes actually find it harder to focus properly on something that is not a constant distance from them ?

I have a 35 inch curved monitor on a sim racing platform.
It was bought for me by my wife to replace a 24 inch tv that was previously used .
I was somewhat sceptical about it's merits ( and cost)  over a similar sized flat screen but from a gaming pov it gives a much more immersive and enjoyable experience .
I'm not sure if that would be the case if being used as a TV as you have to be quite close to the screen to get that wrap around feeling .

Presumably the size of screen and radius of the arc determines the viewing position... Be a pretty bug screen for two people to get a reasonably optimal experience  :-\

With 400+ channels of shite on the telly box, anything is possible... Even watching a curved bug screen ;D

But cold for bugs currently though :-\

I was looking at a 32" PC monitor but for a curved screen I recon its a tad too small.  and only 60Hz at that.

Condered a 35" with faster refresh rate but the price is twice as much :-\

Am I right that we once had curved screens on the big Cinerama scale in the cinemas?

1950’s into 1960’s?

Then they were discontinued with the very wide flat screens for Panovision films, that I watched like Battle of Britain, Paint your Wagons, Where Eagles Dare, The Good, Bad and Ugly, etc, which for me were as good as anything else I have seen.

However, as I have read, curved screens are good on the eye if of a PC monitor size, or a really large 65 inch to format. But I think the cost of the latter will put me off from trying one for some time.  After all I have an Omega to maintain! ::) ::) :D :D ;)
