Title: Anyone heard of the constellation group?
Post by: STEMO on 31 January 2022, 19:03:16
They own WBAC, Cinch, British Car Auctions and, now, Marshall Motors.
They've just bought a 20% stake in Lookers. Taking over the (car) world.

I will always associate the term “constellation” with steam locomotives with a 2-8-0 wheel arrangement :D ;)

Indeed, that is the other Constellation I was thinking of.  When I was a child I remember those flying over Tunbridge Wells, and a visit to London Heathrow with Dad in the early sixties also was a chance to see these distinctive planes.

In 1994 my family went back to Malta for a holiday, and we found a Super Constellation looking very sad, parked up in a small plot that had been used as a cafe.  But by then it was out of use.

Just looked that plane up on Google and have found this sad video filmed 3 years before we saw it:

I also found out it was eventually burnt out by an arsonist, shortly before it was going to be restored. There is a picture on Google of it's sad remains. :'( :'(
