Happy with Stella at home, partial to Guinness Extra Cold at a mainline type pub, but real ale where available.

Or a tasty malt - Laphroaig, Highland Park or similar.  A knife and Fork whisky style     :y

Needs to be bottled beer or draught, though.  Hate the 'tinny' tase of a tin.

I'm on 12 hr night shifts at the moment as well mate, so in theory, the morning should be my time for "winding down" and having a pint before I go to "bed". Doesn't work that way though, I rarely feel like it at 6am. Also get some very strange looks on the train, drinking a beer at such early hours ;D

C'mon guys. only a jest on the spelling thaaaang....   ;D

WhiskEy is Irish, without the 'E' is Scotch.

And the only time the word 'Scotch' is/should be used is in reference to Whisky.  Any other (such as Scotch Git or are you Scotch) is taken as mildly offensive by some Scots.

[/pedant mode]    :D

A few years ago my wife and me had a weekend away in the lakes and I got talking to a geordie in the bar. The bloke was built like a brick out house and the funny thing was he stood at the bar all night working his way down the single malts while his wife sat at a table. I was at the bar getting a drink and I asked him if he'd found the best one yet so he handed my his glass and said try this. Not wanting to offend the friendly giant I had a sip and Ive been hooked ever since. Needless to say my wife went to sit with his wife while me and the Geordie got pi**ed at the bar  :y

Carling - the usual student brew...

however i do like Magners, but a little tip. Bulmers is exactly the same as Magners, comes from the same factory and brewing pot, just badged differnt and cheaper!

Usually I'm happy with large cans of Stella at home and Guinness in the pub, but if I'm feeling like treating myself, I buy myself some Innis & Gunn ale. I&G's wonderful blond beer aged in oak casks. Deelicious!

If I'm on a mission I usually imbibe myself with Mr Daniel's Old No 7!!  8-)

Well, i love my dad's homemade wine and i like beers in general, I don't like beers with less than 5% alcohol because i'm not used to them, back at home all the beers are 5.2% and above. Also i enjoy drinking mostly during a meal, we Greeks tend to socialise arround the table while eating slowly for 2-3 hours more sometimes. Another thing i love is a nice single malt whiskey with ice.

There are a few pubs by the water in Cornwall - sitting outside by the sea, river, or in my case mainly Rias, so nice sitting there with a pint of cider

All depends on my mood

Prob favourite is Jenning's Sneck Lifter, lovely pint
also Guinness or Newcy Brown
Lager would be a Stella or Coors
Wine would be a nice Chianti.

Generally go for a Brandy before a Scotch.

;D ;D ........if I remember correctly, I think Marks DTM was playing around with the forum's profanity filters and thought it amusing to substitute a-merican to sherman tank (might also have been something to do with Theo).  ;)

Not a direct dig at you JimBob, but I've always found it amusing that when people are describing the type of wine they drink refer to it as 'a nice' somethingorother!! I hear it all the time, 'I like a nice Chardonnay' or 'I like a nice Chablis' or 'nice Merlot'.

I mean, it's not as if you'd take pleasure in drinking an un-nice one would you?  ;D
