I don't think he'd like it there.

It was certainly an unpleasant place during the genocide in the 1990's, but apparently it is much improved.

Imagine if you were Rwandan and paid a trafficker to get you to Blighty. Only to be sent to Rwanda for processing. I think you might be a bit peeved.

Listening to Talk Radio (Ian Collins) as I type this and most callers seem to be in favour of the idea.

Owen Jones probably isn't in favour. :)

Please don't waste your precious time thinking about it. It will never, ever happen.

If they land in the UK first, then the places where they are kept and will fly out from will be mobbed by idiots who will bring the whole thing to its knees.
The reason it could prove useful is that it may well make them think its not worth the bother of making the trip here in the first place.
Time will tell.

It won't get past the Lords, the Commons or the courts. It is a total non starter. We can't be so cruel as to send these poor, vulnerable people thousands of miles away to an uncertain future. Better to just blow them out of the water before they even get near.

My guess is  the numbers who are actually sent there will be very small.....but the government will act as if everyone is sent there and the problem has been solved.

It's good publicity for the government, it makes them look as though they are serious about this problem even if it is just cynical manipulation of figures and statistics.

Well they have to keep warm in Brixton somehow!  ;D

No problems keeping warm in Kigali though. Quite the opposite in fact!  :)

ITN objective news report on here at the moment.
"The plan has been labelled as evil".
"Experts are calling the plan cruel".
Now speaking to a woman who was traumatised by war. When did war break out in Northern France ?  :-\
"We have heard that officials in the Home office are in despair".
And now Peston has popped up so Im switching channels.

"Remain in Mexico" was a legal precedent.

And presumably Rwanda are being generously rewarded for their efforts...

The media can be so stupidly short sighted at times. OK, most of the time.

Boris takes back control over your borders.

As the Boy says it is what you voted for.

Is it something just to take the heat off Partygate you didn’t vote for ? !

Just watching Farage's analysis on GB News and he's interviewed a 'top' immigration lawyer who doesn't think it will happen.

His last statement was " Ultimately the courts will decide. "

All it takes is one of the countries between here and Rwanda to refuse overflight permission and the whole scheme comes to a halt. My money is on France.

Given the way France treats migrants, that would be a supreme irony and just done for political purposes.

And if Marie Le Pen gets in?

Yes I read that there are a lot of LGBTQPUHASIONIAEUFIN+ types crossing the channel in dinghies.  :)

Apparently they are coached to tell the authorities here that they are gay lezza whatever, and that they are at risk of persecution from whatever shithole they come from and more likely granted asylum here.  ::)

Normal people are becoming fewer and fewer, and that is a fact, also normal folks opinion is becoming far less important than the crap being constantly peddled to us.

And if Marie Le Pen gets in?

The situation exists because France are using it for political purposes - i.e. to cause trouble for the U.K.
If France were to agree that the illegals who sail to the UK in dinghies could be brought straight back to France, the people smugglers would be out of business next week, and the crossings would cease.
No more incidents of dozens of bodies lying at the bottom of the channel.
Macron and chums are utter scum.

Well, I don't have a high opinion of Macron
However, if I had loads of migrants stacked up in Calais and nearby, I'd be quite happy to get shot of them over La Manche. They become our problem not theirs. I'd do the same.

I see they are thinking of renaming Gladstone park in London, so named after 4 time PM William Gladstone who died in 1898.

Apparently his parents had links with slavery.

I wonder who we should name the park after in 2022. ::) ::) ::) ::)

I don't think it matters what they change the name to, people will still call it Gladstone Park. I would make a point of asking a council worker for directions, no doubt causing much consternation and accusations of racism.
Not being in public office or holding down a position of importance, I would just shrug at such accusations and reply "Probably, and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it"  ;D
