Very nice too, a good friend of mine has one and loves it :y
-
Very nice, John :y
I wouldn't park that in Liverpool :(
-
Looks a beauty. :y Nice one.
-
Proper gentleman's express. Very nice! 8)
-
Nice one, Aunt and Uncle have one as a 'weekend' car and they really like it :y
I think every car made since the Omega 3.2 has better fuel economy ;D but they are still a fantastic go-kart to fling around when they are on decent springs and shocks and i'm in no rush to get rid of mine. :y
-
That means you have to buy all the polish potions, else you'll be expelled from Jaguar forums ;D
-
Very nice indeed. :y
Is it SC or NA?
-
Ah....XKR so supercharged. :y >:D

I've been thinking about your purchase, Opti, and it dawned on me that you'd bought new. I must say I'm surprised at this, you'll be giving the government a fortune in VAT, which you'll never get back.

As I said.
My intention was to buy a 2 or 3 year old car. for about 50% of the full list price. However, the prices were too close for comfort to a brand new car with a 3 year manufacturer warranty.
Second hand prices are silly at the moment.........you know what your Astra is (still) worth.

Hmmmm.....yes....I understand, but c.£7000 is still a lot of VAT. I guess you looked at the numbers, so you know what's what, but that would definitely stick in my craw.
-
My astra is worth less, a lot less, than your contribution to government coffers. But I'm only a northern, poverty-stricken pensioner :'(

I console myself with the knowledge that it didn't cost any more than a certain Vauxhall of ill repute cost in 1990.

Then again...you can't take it with you, and it's earning naff all sat in the bank. Horses for courses, I guess.

Yes, I know. WTF were folk thinking? ;D
The list price of my astra was £26,000 in 2014, who pays that for an astra?
Answer: no one. They were always discounted at new.

I feel sorry for John, this thread is going way off now, but.....
You can open a Chase current account online in about ten minutes. There is a savings account attached to it that pays 1.5%.
Account is serviced by mobile app only, but the people on MSE forum speak highly of it.

Don't know, didn't watch. It's been in the Best Buy tables for a while now, lots of discussion on MSE forum. But no need to trawl through that, the bank's site will have all the info.
No joint account...yet. When that option becomes available, I'll be jumping in. That's providing the BOE haven't raised the base rate to around 3% by then, better rates will be available when/if they do.

That's a lot of car for £14K :y
-
That's what I thought when I was looking at them and only £20 a year more to insure than the omega just a pity about the £600 rfl robbery tax.
You're right about Liverpool the skyline was the only car that someone tried to steal whilst parked outside work.
Retired now so safe ish over here on the Wirral. :)
-
Nice car! 8) My mate had the soft top version. :y
Hope you get the front end soon as £14k is a lot of money for half a jag! :o ;D

Yep..more elegant and less brash than the F-Type. Although I like them both. :y
£14,000. You could have bought a new Dacia for that. ::) ::) ::) ::) ;)

Ha, let her near you lot. Exactly how stupid do you think I am?!
But she does know me well enough to read over my shoulder from time to time.

I find it wise not to pose this question.
The Neanderthal wing of OOF may have an answer that is far from flattering. ;D ;D ;D

Indeed, any question can be asked, but there's no guarantee that you will like the answer :D
