Think my car has 225/55 R16 W fitted.
What brands do you favour?
-
Ooooo a tyre thread.. I've got Monarchs 235/45/w/17 XL on the Saab, used the same name and rating on my omega.
-
Goodyear Eagle F1 Assym 3 on the Alabama Mumsybus.
-
I've got 14 Michelin 385/70/22.5 and 4 x315/65/22.5 on the works vehicle.. ;D ;D
-
I've got 225/50/17's on my astra. General tyre, American.
-
Always have Yokohama on our vehicles wear very well, never had any problems, without looking at exact sizes I know the RRS is 20 inch & the Scooby 15.
-
I had Kumhos. Seemed ok. Got Nexens now. Seem ok too 👍

Continental or Pirelli. But if I'm paying, I buy whatever mid price ones they have in stock.
If they're paying me, I'd consider Michelins....

Running the same tyres as yourself on my estate, I currently run Dunlop SPmaxx RT and from experience they will start getting slidable around 3mm tread left. Before that, I ran Bridgestone RE002 tyres but they are now NLA. Prior to that was Dunlop again (different model) and they were useless in the wet.
When these current ones go, I will probably go back to Bridgestone on something like T005 or S001 if available. Problem is that decent brand tyres in that size are hard to come by, especially for sensible money.

Dunlop Blueresponse were pretty decent performers on the A Class and Focus.
Had Goodyear Eagle F1 Assym 3 on The Barge as well, but on 18"s...
The 16"s had Goodyear Vector 4 seasons fitted and were also strong performers. Similar size to the Omega tyre as well :y

Thought I'd ignore a tyre thread, but then thought Id give my sixpen'th....
Recently always had Michelins on my Omegas and family dailys. Had differing experiences with Dunlop and Goodyear where the shoulders developed minor cracks, and deep cracks around the circumference in the tread grooves. Hankook have been good, but wear quickly, similar to Pirellis.
I like Uniroyals and Maxxis on my classics, but the makes are somewhat restricted due to limitations on size.
Got Michelin RO1 on my Audi, which are very good, far better than its original Pirello P Zero Rossos (ditchfinders), but have been superceded. Like Michelin Latitude Sport 3 , - great all round larger sized tyre imho.
But each to their own.....
-
I’m using Fedral 595 RSR semislicks on the Evo awesome grip but need to be careful in the wet👀
-
My last 2 Omegas were shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 4, either in 235/45/17 or 245/40/18, which were the only decent tyre I could find after SportMaxx TT became unavailable.

Had them on my Desmond and also now got them on my Vectra :y. Not the same ones of course. :D

Had Nexens on my last Insignia. Not great.

235/45R17 Pirelli P7 CINT 97W XL tyres on my current Omega, as I have had fitted for the last 9 years on this one.
Great tyres for me, being low profile. ;)

I found them to be quiet and comfortable, and good resistance to tramlining. However, if you wanted grip, look elsewhere.

I didn't rate the P7's on an Omega, though they were quite good on a little FWD shitbox hire car I had once.

Ooooo a tyre thread >:D ;D
On the Omega, for daily use, I put Uniroyal Rainsport 5's on (Not sure they are an improvement against the previous Rainsport 3's), for proper driving I think you'd struggle to better Michelin Pilot Sport 4's. As always it's a matter of what suits your driving requirements - If you drive only a low mileage on local roads then clearly you'd put something midrange on.

Uniroyal Rainsport's on my V6, and no issues. :y
-
I've got a set of Nexen tyres on the front, appreantly they are standard fit to Audis according to the tyre guy, which is a load of bullplop, but they seem ok - China's best!:
Audi cooperates with top tyre manufacturers such as Bridgestone, Toyo, Dunlop or Goodyear.

That's right, no need to indicate or drive with consideration for others anymore.... :D

Strangely enough, I find the M25 to be more civilised than some, despite it often being quite busy on the bits I use most. Now the M1 from the North Circ to Northampton, that is full of a-holes ;D

I put a set of 4 Avon ZV7's on my estate last year.
Before scrubbed in, they was slippery as hell.
After a 150 mile fun drive down some rough roads, they came into there own and I was actually impressed.
235 / 45 / 17's
