Title: snowworld @ landgraaf in Holland
Post by: tunnie on 10 September 2008, 20:17:38
my new addiction of snowboarding let me to this place...

I usually go down MK, but this place looks massive!

Thats just one of five slopes!

The others have rails, jumps, all kinds of features.

Very reasonably priced to, MK is £25 for 2 hours (easily stretched to 4  ::))

But Snowworld its 30EUR for 8 hours!  :o

Not a bad website either:

I feel a road trip coming on, found a ferry for £28 from Dover to Dunkerque, its about 400 miles each way.

If i can't get friends to go, then i will use the train, as i can take the EuroStar to Brussels for £59  :D

Holland? Snow sports?

It's completely flat!  The bit near Maastricht is known as the Dutch Alps, and is about as hilly as Suffolk.  Where, incidentally, they are proposing to construct a massive and utterly hideous eyesore of an indoor ski-slope - have a look at http://www.snoasis.co.uk/snoasis/?q=intro

And don't forget, the Dutch invented CenterParcs :(

In 2003-04 I was working in Brunsum about 2-3 miles from Landgraaf

Tunnie, I am flying to Amsterdam in November for less than £19 each way... a lot cheaper than fuel costs.
Try BMI Baby....

Flying still more expensive over all, petrol to the airport, then parking, then car/taxi other end.

We are taking massive snowboard bags too, so airlines always clobber you for that.

I can picture the discussion at immigration already:

"So, mr. Tunnie, Why have you been to the Netherlands?"

"A Skiing holiday." :-[

"That's odd. everyone else goes for the weed." :(

<Sound of latex gloves>
