Post-Facelift exterior apart from the pre-facelift boot and pre-facelift interior :-?
-
I've had Star Silver W 2000 GLS & now 03 CD and interiors have basically been the same and that looks wrong. Display is different, wood is a lighter colour and window controls are totally different.
Cloned???

Car exterior pics taken in dim light but interior in bright sunlight in a different location - maybe he had some of an Omega with leather on file and just got lazy?

How very odd!!

And this guy is selling and not saying about the auto gearbox coming up on the computer :o

Hmmm. But it has helped me with your original car pics - what I thought was the window controls is actually the electric seat controls and the rest of the interior matches spec too. :y
-
well the first car looks to me like a facelift exterior that has been retro-fitted with a pre-facelift interior and door cards. The odd thing though is that the centre part of the dash has been changed too, as well as the transmission tunnel cover - perhaps it had a wiring fault at some point.
Either way, personally I'd give it a VERY wide berth!
Reminds me of the car that was on ebay a few months ago - a facelift that had front-end damage which had been "expertly" repaired - with pre-facelift parts ;D
-
RE the gearbox fault one above - I emailed the guy, and got this reply:
"Hi, thanks for the advise but the gearbox has worked perfectly in my use, if there is a fault it will be electrical or the error needs to be cleared ( I didn't even notice it ), if you want to own the car make an acceptable offer, it's as simple as that, Cheers Simon"
I would give this car a wide berth.

I second that, sounds very dodgy.

My guess is that he is a trader, and used interior pictures from an image bank of previous cars, not realising that the facelift has different interior... or that he does not have the car in his possession, so he got the interior picture from somewhere else off the Internet. He is definitely not familiar with the car, or he would notice the discrepancy, so this reinforces my view that he is probably a trader. Either way, the interior pictures are smaller and very likely to have simply come from another car - no one in his right mind would take the trouble of retrofitting a pre-facelift interior in a facelift car, even if it was for the leather, far too much work - plus the Climate will need to be changed too...
-
The whole dash has been changed then (pre and post facelift cars have different dash)....I think the interior photos are of a different car...

Wouldn't have it for £1000 sounds like very dodgy bloke
