LHR to RAK in 2 hours 34 minutes. Usually nearer 3 hours 45.
Apparently peaked at 584 knots which is apparently Mach 0.876 and about 129 knots of tailwind given that the A320CEO max is 459 knots.

That's because it was going downhill,
-
In the 90's, I used to go out with a 'trolley dolly' who flew long haul with British Airways, and all she used to go on about was the flights, and where she'd been etc., which got a bit tedious after a while. Not everyone was interested in the slightest, especially as it was seen by some of my friends as 'gloating'. Has a good number of trips away at ridiculously cheap prices with 'staff discount' to places I would otherwise never have visited, but I got tired of her harping on about her job, and eventually I binned her, and we went our separate ways.....

I only mentioned it because I thought it might be interesting.
Meteorologically speaking, the weather charts for the flight were showing up to 170 knots of Jetstream blowing pretty much straight from the UK to Africa which struck me as unusual, and therefore interesting, especially as I was able to experience it first hand.

I went out with a Trolly Dolly once and whenever we went away, she'd insist it was fine to turn up at check in at the last moment which always irritated the hell out of me. ::)
The last time we went on holiday we visited friends of hers in the Dominican Republic and on the day we left had a final lunch which dragged on and on. I was getting agitated as had to return the hire car etc and as usual we slid through check in at the last mo, but got split up as they didn't have two seats together left which she got a bit stroppy about (liquid lunch!), but I had a nice peaceful flight home anyway! ;D
We didn't last much longer.... :-X

Indeed ;)
The beauty of the way the interwebs work being that you're not obliged to read or reply if it isn't of interest ;D

For every person that checks in four hours early, there are two that insist on rocking up 5 minutes before ;D

He left, ages ago, because you upset him.

Everyone knows I'm just about the nicest man alive. :)
Must have been you. Just being from Liverpool is enough to piss people off.

I have a close friend who left the police and became BA cabin crew on the 777, doing long haul.
But, she’s bagged herself a senior Captain now (something she told me she would ;D ) and has the ring on the finger, so she’s now jacked it in :D

I, for one, found it interesting as I have always had an interest in both aviation and weather. Better not mention my first job after school was with BOAC as it might give my age away! ;D
