Right, a contact at a Cadillac dealer in Colorado has managed to source a genuine GM V6 oil cooler.
The price is $566 plus Colorado sales tax.
Chances are, this is one of the last available, if not the last.
I am going to Denver on Friday. If that helps with shipping.
-
Ooo how much is Colorado sales tax? ??? ::)
-
Significantly lower than New Yoik :D
4.85% iirc.
-
So $593.45 inc (£486.44) if you've got the sales tax right.
Does that come with a Catera attached? :D

No low-ballers. He knows what he has ;D

It’s the price they're asking for it.
If no one wants it, it's one less thing for me to bring back.
And for the level of gratitude for the effort, I won't bother asking again.

you did your best .... ;)
but you have to admit that the best part of £500 is a lot to spend on a oil heat exchanger for very old car ;)

Cheaper than a new car ;)

A new car or a 'new' Omega? ;)
-
One thing for certain it will be worth a lot more that that to anyone keeping a concours condition rare car..
Buy and tuck away as your pension.

Either. Besides, a 'new' Omega would probably require one at some point. ::)

If I just had £500------------------ ::)
-
I wonder if he'll break this :-\ ;) ;)

as mentioned the other day, it was only taken off the road cos it needed a coil pack ???
-
Doesn't bode well for regular coolant changes :D
-
You could buy a Laminova for much less and the one on my kit car has been fine for 20+ years...

Or use a fettled EGR cooler clicky (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255363781087?hash=item3b74de11df:g:XWMAAOSwbFFh-Qme&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoKpmbDTPSIPsbNHpsNGMmjN3z2wBUJ8ZMiBfhI2J9djfOzorHYjTyMUj0AuiPJREJ7Z1qDbrZtTra5iwygHXtfd%2FmBbySoMjXtf7OHBcc%2FPjVDumEoZphKeDUG4inHRFicmubq2t5XE3x4n0BzyUQmyDL1ugBCC2NZhrVR6WLaFO2eyMomOGcKY4UClMScxf8O%2F%2FncH%2FRQ35nL%2BnHGJVqjk%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR4zr3JCfYQ) in a similar way :)
I've got a pair of those bolted together to recover the exhaust heat from one of my diesel heaters

Well, having met with the very helpful chap at Rickenbaugh Cadillac, they're starting to struggle getting some parts for anything much over 10 years old as GM switches it's focus to all electric.
Doesn’t bode well for older Vauxhalls.

Doesn’t bode well for older Vauxhalls. cars with internal combustion engines.
Sadly I think this is more like it as after 2030 when new ICE cars will be banned, I can't see the car companies bothering with parts for long.
Maybe the aftermarket/pattern parts companies will do well, but only for common parts for popular cars I'd imagine. :-\

And only basic service consumables.
