Title: Winter Prep
Post by: Sir Tigger KC on 07 December 2022, 21:17:38
How do you prepare your car for winter?  ???

Here's how they do it in Siberia! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Keks8PSqsWo)  :)

I put the ice scrapper in the car.  Do I need to do anything else?

(Well, I also started to strengthen the screenwash about 2 months ago, and have reset the tyre pressure to be 1-2 PSI under the handbook figure (normally run about 1 PSI higher).  Also chuck a warm blanket in the cars, a snow shovel, gloves and a hat etc.  If it gets proper snowy, I chuck a load of junk in the boot for weight).

Put the winter tyres on yesterday, and slung the snow chains in the boot. Off to an Alp this weekend, if we can evade all the strikes and power cuts here and in French France.

Presumably the diff lock is a switch that makes the ESP switch on the rear diff, rather than an actual diff lock :-\

Topped up the screen wash :D

That's a good idea ..... maybe I should have sorted the Smart's screen wash earlier as the engine is a bit far away to defrost the pipework when frozen - as it probably already is  :-[
