Well, my daily went through the MOT today with no advisories. Just under 136000 miles, only ruse in the usual places on the rear doors.
Unfortunately, it will be its last, certainly under my ownership….. Damn shame.
President Khan means that the old girl will have to go in the new year.

Good result on the pass anyway. :y

Seconded :y
I intend to comply with the letter of the ULEZ bullshit but in the most obnoxious way I can. Certainly won't be paying £12.50 a day to park when I am away. >:(

I have a plan…
I have a 1953 Ford Popular sitting in the garage. Has not moved since 1980 and has been a long-term project. Engine is all rebuilt, etc, just needs a full day on it and it would be drivable I reckon.
Is also historic, so is ULEZ-exempt, along with tax and MOT.
As I have got to sell my 4x4 Sierra Saph, my Nissan Primera with an SR20 lump in it and have just got my Mk4 Golf sold the other week and my Escort Cabby will be going into storage after August next year until 2026 when it can be registered as historic, at least I will have something “fun” to play with.

Congratulations on the MOT :)

If a few more did this, Ian, it would look like 'London in the 1950's' ;D

I'm sure thousands of sidevalve engines would help the air quality no end. ;D

So i assume that being ULEZ and MOT exempt you don't need an emissions test.

Correct.

Oddly enough, my Monaro is ULEZ compliant

A quick look at the population would soon cure the delusion. ;D
London would have been 99% white in the fifties rather than the 37% today.
Of course, it is racist to mention or even notice such things in 2022. ::)

Not many babies christened Enoch in 2022, I'd wager. >:D
