Out to Miami tomorrow, back Christmas lunchtime, unless we have another IT meltdown, in which case I will get stuck there.
Although it's looking as cold as it was the last time I went in 1989 ;D
-
Supposed to be some severe weather in the States in the next few days. Think you should be ok in Miami though. ;)

I would imagine that's a rarity.

In Spain, they have a big family meal on Christmas Eve.
Going out on Christmas Day for lunch is the norm. We are doing that. Then back home to watch TV ( after siesta of course)
All to do again at New Year and again for 3 Kings ( when the Maji apparently turned up with gifts of gold, laughter and tree bark) 3 Kings is when the kids get their presents. Most places have a float that goes round the street lobbying sweets out at the waiting kids.

Nice walk in the morning with Buddy the Boxer, then spend the day at our daughters with all the family eating & drinking, haven't bought anything from Argos so there won't be any black people joining in with the festivities 😂..🎄🎄🎄🎄

I plan on eating to excess at lunchtime, then laying on the sofa all afternoon, sleeping and farting.
-

Just a normal type of day then.

Which probably means, as normal, pressie day will be boxing day for us.
By the time we've fed the Outlaws, and I've had a snooze, I'll be too far down the CBA road to be opening anything* to want pressies.
*Alcoholic beverages excluded. I see she has stocked up on cheap buzz fizz, so suspect I'll be necking several bottles of that on Sunday.

We've bought a couple of bottles of Jap gin which is rated at 43% Volume compared with normal gin at 37.5% volume.
Also proper 'cold war' strength Russian vodka.
Also plenty of red wine and rum and bottled 5% lager and Pernod ( the stuff that changes colour) and rum, both dark and white)
As teens we used to make our own 'moonshine' which was beyond evil and several of us ended up in hospital. >:D
I'm sensible now though. :)

I saw some Absinthe for sale the other day with an insane level of alcohol. Never seen anything that high before.

I do the cooking :o (yes seriously)
Offsrping are able to join us despite the best efforts of Comrade Lynch. So get turkey in oven with the intention of overcooking it a bit with lunch aimed at 3pm - ish.
Couple of beers in the kitchen. Fizz for the Mrs. Sort out the wines (taken very VERY seriously in our house)
Then, hope everyone else will do the washing up . . . ;)

We are supposed to be staying at home, just the two of us. But, after an overheard comment when SWMBO was talking to her sister on the phone last night, I now expect that something else is now planned. She said to her sister that it was a conversation not to be had just now ???
-
Sounds intriguing. :)

we keep saying that one year we will spend christmas away but never seems to happen. last time we were at carlisle there was a bit of snow and it looked like it would be a nice place to go for christmas as a example.
but my ideal christmas day would be cleaning the cars or at least working on them and its way too cold to enjoy it so wont be doing that !
i still havnt fitted my new drivers door catch yet cos i dont want to rush it in a hour ,rather spend all day doing ,lubricating, checking all the other ones too.

Doesn't everybody had a big box under one of the worktops that does that/

Yes, but I often think it's more work loading it up and then waiting for somebody else to empty it and put it all away :o

We have a very efficient dish washer in our house, it's called ME. :D

Just been talking to rellies in OZ via messenger for over an hour. A bit hard going for them (and me) as my brother passed away in August. They were all getting stuck into malt speyside whiskies in a silver quaich! 22c down there, 6c up here!!

A mere 22c?! Thats wooly sweater territory for them isn't it?!
Merry Christmas all :)
We had 7 of us in the house yesterday, which was more than enough. The lad got us up at 7 and the GF and I didn't open our presents until gone midnight! All good fun though! ;D
