Title: Nhs really looking poorly now
Post by: Raeturbo on 31 December 2022, 18:19:13
How much much money does this (Mis) organisation need ffs…….

Total current healthcare expenditure in the UK in 2020 was £257.6 billion, equating to £3,840 per person.

I suspect it's too large to be managed efficiently, and too much of a political hot potato to reform.

I suspect that, if we spent a small proportion of that budget on providing a basic level of social care for those being discharged from hospital, the problem would go away. We don't provide this in a cost effective way, so we end up providing it in the most inefficient way possible, in a much needed hospital bed/corridor. ::)

Yes, but how long before social care became so large that it needed several layers of management to manage the ever increasing budget?
Then we'd have two dysfunctional organisations for the price of one four.  ;D

Sacking 40,000 carers over a vaccine doesn't look like such a great idea now does it?  ???

Surprising that the MSM haven't picked up on that?  ::)                    Oh wait.....  :-X

I have a friend bed blocking n Hull hospital . Just waiting for some kind of home care.

Been here with loads of family members before. One was sent to Dumfries hospital with suspected meningitis. Wasnt. Just a way of  freeing a bed up in Stranraer hospital. Then she was moved to a cottage hospital until care was organised.

The solution is obvious but is going to cost money.

Over four grand per person not enough then?

That kind of budget will undoubtedly reek of corruption, so some people are pocketing an absolute fortune.

It was mentioned on the news recently that the NHS were paying agencies up to £6k per shift :o for consultants, so yes, I'd be looking at where that money's going for a start.

Mrs Varche’s cure would start with immediately stopping use of agency workers. Fill the posts and in the meantime split the agency pay over the contracted staff.

If I culled over half the population, that would ease the burden.

A vote for TB is a vote for common sense.

And then I'd close the NHS down.
