Title: Reducing car collection
Post by: iansoutham on 10 January 2023, 19:55:51
Well, the car collection is starting to thin out a bit. Had quite a few cars and bikes but now some have got to go because of Khan and ULEZ.

T-reg Golf has already gone in October, my Sierra Sapphire 4x4 sold between Christmas and New Year (for silly money as well), got to move on my Nissan Primera and the Omega soon.

Sad times  :'(

I'm fortunate that currently pretty much any trips which encounter ULEZ are for work so I can claim it back. If I need to go to a ULEZ zone for non-work I use the 3.2 Omega which is ULEZ compliant.

Not sure how long that situation will last but hoping when I replace the daily (530D) second hand ULEZ compliant cars will be more affordable.... mind you, I suspect when every motorway is a Smart (Smart Motorways, don't get me started on that b0110cks!!!!) Motorway then the powers that be will have all the ANPR camera's they need to start charging for road use per mile......

RANT OVER LOL

Mine isn't but I knew that when I bought it.

I conscientiously chose to buy a non dpf car, but hadn't considered ULEZ because there's more chance of me driving it to Canada than into Central Lundun.

However I hadn't considered that they would bring ULEZ all the way to the M25.

Mine isn't but I knew that when I bought it.

My guess is that the King would drive HM1 and the Prince of Wales would drive HRH1  ;)

Pedantic I know...  :)

Just to keep the misinformed do-gooders happy ;D

On the plus side, when I drive her car in to Brumingham (hers is compliant with their emissions shit, mine aint), the app thingie whatsit (DTM will know the name) claims I get 68MPG. Me. 68MPG.  ;D
