Title: Nordstream pipeline
Post by: STEMO on 09 February 2023, 09:54:31
A very interesting read. Open to subjective opinion, of course:

I read the first paragraph and conclude that as the writer clearly has no sense of direction, the rest of the article must be little more than contrived nonsense. So I haven't read the rest of it.

The day started by being sent a link to a City Am article with the question 'What do I think?', which was clearly a mistake.  :-X

Interesting read.

I said as soon as Ukraine was invaded that they( the Ukranians) ought to blow up the pipelines to focus Europes minds on energy. Of course they wouldn’t have had the technology.

Who else could it have been!

Like I said, subjective. No point in posting my opinion, those with an open mind will make up their own mind, those who have a preconceived opinion will only read the first paragraph.

Who did it?

That's an easy question to answer:

Who stands to gain most politically or financially, which is essentially the same thing.

It was either to restrict available supplies to force a green agenda by proxy... essentially forced rationing, or as an opportunity to export more gas from the US in order to create the illusion of less gas in the US thereby restricting availability there. Which drives the cost up, along with the associated tax revenues.

Call me cynical, but it could only have been the Yanks. No one else gas anything to gain from it.

Then you agree with the author.

Not on everything.

I know Panama City is East of the Alabama border, for example  ;D

Err, the closest crossing point into Alabama is due north of Panama City, near Esto (about 66 miles). The western boarder to Alabama is 136 miles away.

However, the article implying that Panama city is any sort of sleepy back water is miles off the mark. Tyndall AFB, Eglin AFB, Pensicola NAS all in the immediate area.

Once sleepy was the phrase used.

This from Twitter made me chuckle....

Imagine being German and not comprehending that two of your NATO allies blew up your cheap gas supply and substituted it with their expensive gas supplies.

Well that would at least wake them up from their “ cant get involved in another conflict after our WW2 efforts” Welcome to the real world. They have dragged out the Rissia/Ukraine conflict and been responsible for thousands of deaths.

Ze Germans are so conflicted that it's difficult to believe that they aren't, in fact, Catholic.

Most rational people have rightly come to the conclusion that this story is hogwash and merely a smokescreen to detract from the real culprits.

Aside from the fact that the nature of the blast and the explosive charges/remote detonation used suggest a state player, the main problem with this story is that the pipes are 80m down and any divers working at that depth would require spending many hours in a decompression chamber immediately upon resurfacing. You don't get massive decompression chambers on 50ft yachts.  ::) ::)

I wasn't saying this is true when posting, I just found it and offered it as an alternative to my original. I don't think we'll ever know be able to prove who did it.

No, you were absolutely right to post it! It's important to be able to air the different stories out there though, as you rightly point out, the prospects of unmasking the culprit(s) are slim.

It seems that everyone is assuming that divers planted the explosives, but what if the explosives were inside the pipe?  ???

Either sent down the pipe on a trolley of some kind or maybe they were there all along as a self destruct mechanism.  :)

That theory implies that the owners of the pipe, i.e Russia and Germany, would want to sabotage an economic infrastructure that was of benefit to both. Sorry, but that theory doesn't hold water...or gas.  ;)
