No, I don't mean seventeen and a half new pence.
I mean just 3 Omega currently for sale on Autotrader, and 6 Signums.
I seem to recall there being at least 100 Omega available every week a few years ago.
Not many left now.

That's normal when the youngest is twenty years old. How many twenty year old Mondeos or Focuses do you see on the roads now?
-
SWMBOs Subaru Forester is 18 years old this year has 5,4000 miles showing and looks no more than 3 years old, never failed an MOT & has never had a repair just service items, says something about their build quality.

I was thinking common as muck equals......£
Rare and sought after equals.....................££££££££. :)
I mean, you see once common BMC/BL tat like the Mini/Austin 1100/ Marina fetching a few bob now.
We live in hope. :)
-
An antique dealer near here has a few old classic cars outside his shop including a Marina Coupe. :y
I have to wrestle with myself every time I go by to stop myself from going in to see how much it is! ;D

My sister had a 1300 until recently, and I bought an Avenger at the same time. The usual conversations with the general public were I learnt to drive in one of those, that was my first car or my Mum had one. Or Mum had both.... The same thing happens when you see drivers in their late twenties driving around in early 90s cars whether they're the stuff that was desirable then or the ordinary stuff like Rover 200s that were the 1100 equivalent. This has always been the case.
Your Signum has a while to go before that type of nostalgia lifts the desirability and value. It might not happen at all; just look at the market for the very few Crestas that are left.
I can't believe I just used desire and Signum in the same sentence ;D

That's ok, Nick. I sometimes desire a Chinese takeaway, about the same price as an omega or sigmund.

About as often as you see desire and Ann Widdecombe in the same sentence. >:D

Of the 3 Omega currently available on Autotrader the cheapest is £1995.
Your chinky must be amazing. :)
-
Perhaps I shouldn't admit to this but......
As a very small boy the Austin 1300 GT was on my ' when I grow up list'
It was the BVR and zany seventies colours that did it. ;D ;D
The Ferrari Daytona, Maserati Bora, Elan Sprint and Triumph TR6 were also on the list so I wasn't completely retarded. ;)

Is that the 2.2 poverty spec one in rarest silver, described as immaculate and yet has at least one rusty sill?
Looked mighty tempting thats for sure :D

Yep...a humble 2.2CD with 2 pistons missing.....so not really an Omega at all. ::)

2.6 not 3.2... :-\
Manual not auto... :-\
Cloth not leather... :-\
Silver again...... :-\
A sense of humour is a wonderful thing if they think it's worth £3495. :-X

I wonder how much an 02, 3.2 elite is realistically worth now ?
Al the usual elite toys including rear blind, ncdc 2013 with colour screen (some bits of it still work ok)
Ex plod front srpings & dampers. Monaro top mounts. Polybushed wishbones & droplinks.
Rear self levelling has been binned.
Tiny bit of rust on rear arches. Look lovely in Rubens Red from 6 - 10 feet away, apart from nasty scratches on rear bumper.
Recently passed MOT with no advisories, and only 197000 on the clock. :D
£5000 sounds like a nice round figure. ;D ;D

my 2.6 returns 23 MPG , I heard "Global warming" is a BAD :o thing :-\
I'd imagine if it was a 3.2 it wouldn't make it to the 20s :D
still cheaper than the coal/gas/diesel etc to charge the batteries of a milk float though
Manual makes it rare
not everyone has a leather fetish Opti ::)
Silver is very desirable ,or they wouldn't have painted 99% of them L157 :P

Stick shift does make it rare. My star silver 2.6CD was also manual, but I don't think a manual box suits the Omega.
Truck like gear change. :)

you don't NEED to change gear much if you stick to a steady 90 ::)

Stick shift. Wait a spell. The forum is being taken over by Yankee bastards.

Hard to say what the *are* worth IMO, but when you can get a similar age aluminum bodied XJ with two more cylinders and the same/better equipment, it's hard to argue for that much money...

If it brings back Daisy Duke and an orange Dodge Charger I'm all for it.
The confederate flag on the roof may piss off a few people though. ::) ::)
