Short notice, but we'll have an outage this morning as we move out databases to newer versions of Linux.
If time allows, I might even move the webserver over to it's planned replacement.
-
Database migration successful, web server migration was rolled back :(
-
We also had a database glitch caused by a configuration issue, which meant we briefly fell back to the old primary database server for about 15mins.
As no new posts or members appeared in that timeframe, to avoid time consuming backing up and restoring, we fixed the issue and simply left the "new" database as was.
If you logged on between about 13:30 and 14:00, you might have new post notifications for posts you've already read. Sorry about that.
Right, now onto this webserver....
-
Much obliged as ever :y
-
As above ..... Thanks Jamie :y :y
-
Good Luck with it all
........... Oh, He's done it already, and not an explosion in sight ;)
-
If I also say thanks TB's head will grow as large as his waistline. >:D

Thanks for applying grease to the cogs of the OOF machine :)
As grease is expensive ,along with electrickary and everything else....
you should set up something so we can donate you a tub of grease or ££
Anonymously would remove issue with your admirable "rules" about NOT splitting the forum into paid and unpaid or any special consideration for "paid" members ,allowing everyone access to the excellent guides and information :)
PO BOX :-\
NOT Brackley obviously ,as no delivery driver dare enter the "blast zone" :P
or maybe a youtube channel you can accept payments on :-\

Good job Mrs TheBoy is not about today, else she'd kick you in the conkers. She still seems to have a bit of a sense of humour failure over the whole garage thing ;D

That'd be proper freakish ;D

The webserver is being swapped out tomorrow. Some people have briefly ran on the new one today, by accident, before the certificates were properly set up ;D

I am appreciative of the work that goes into maintaining a site like this, but being honest, I haven't a friggin' clue about what you said in the first few posts.... ::)
-
Now running on the replacement webserver. Which means no more Centos underpinning OOF :)
It is also a prerequisite of upgrading the application that runs this forum, SMF. Although thats an upgrade for another day, as the upgrade on the test platform ended up being "messy" ;D
-
Thanks TB! :y
-
This morning's one was unplanned, caused by a hardware failure :(

That makes two of us. ;D Just great that at least someone knows what the hell they are doing. :y
