I thought it was to be continued.
But it seems not.
I'll be OK, but I imagine some people will struggle. :-X
....sorry should be in general discussion. Shit. :)

I had another £67 week ago.

I had another £67 week ago.
Octopussy have informed me that the scheme has now finished and are taking an extra £67 each month from now on.

They don't take anything from me. I submit my meter readings every month and then pay what I owe for the month before.
As I pay them a month in arrears, in effect I use my Octopus account as a defacto overdraft facility. :)

But the government payment has stopped, right?
We will all be £67 a week worse off.

£67 a month....
I prefer to think that I had a £67 bonus every month during the winter. :y

Yes...month. :-[
I agree. Back in the old days the government gave the people SFA regardless of how difficult the times were.
What people call poverty in 2023 is nothing like the definition of poverty in 1923, 1823 or 1723.

I've had my thermostat at 14 degrees all winter and managed to keep my bills at about £180-200 every month. :y
It hasn't been that hard either. I've worn thermals and a few layers, and an occasional blast from a fan heater has kept it bearable. :)
My lefty mate thinks I'm mad and has been crowing that he has been paying £40 a month all winter thanks to his government money. He lives in a 2 bed Victorian mid terrace with single glazed sash windows and I'd bet my mortgage that there is sod all insulation in his attic. Under interrogation he admitted that he hasn't put a meter reading for over 6 months. I think he's in for a helluva shock when he does! ;D
I think I've saved about £1000 over the winter! :y

Surely there was the option of a 'well insulated' Darzett farm girl to keep the chill off. ;)

Is your old school chum Erica Rowe available to provide this service during the winter months? ::) >:D

Now she had a fine pair! :y
We did go to the same school, but she was much older than me so had left by the time I went there. Not a bad if tenuous claim to fame though. :)

One of my sisters went to the same school as Mandy Rice-Davies.
Again, not at the same time though.
Rather friendly with John Profumo, I believe. :-X :-X

I went to the same high school as Paul McCartney, even sat at his old desk. He went on to much greater things than me, including buying the old school ;D

Supposedly worth between 400 - 600 million.
I doubt you can manage even half that. ::) ::) ::) ;) :D
