Oh dear.  ;D   I have no desire to own one personally, mainly because I can’t be arsed with faffing about charging the thing mid journey on a long journey, when my diesel car does the same journey and back on the same tank of fuel. Also, what is the obsession with making electric vehicles so ficking ugly. I appreciate that they don’t need a grill for cooling but they look so bland without one.
I’ll steer clear of them while I can still buy fuel.  :y

If you have to subsidise something in order to produce it or sell it, then it's clearly not a viable product.

Obviously making it a shit product isn't going to help it's case any.

Watched that through, Dave, confirming everything I already knew. I doubt it will stop (rich) lentil munchers buying them but, for your average Joe, they just don't make sense. And are soulless boxes.

Much like a fridge or dishwasher.

White goods.

Gotta love depreciation. :D

And when the batteries are f*ucked after 5 or 6 years what then?

They will cost way more than the value of the car to replace.

With interest rates only going one way, along with electric prices, i cannot see anyone but the totally gullible or stupid buying an ev privately

They will only 'sel'l any as long as the tax incentives for company car drivers stay in place.

Then again when VW think a golf r should be £60k it's a wonder they sell any ICE cars either!

My wife's cast off Astra 1.6 diesel is giving me 56mpg, according to the fuel computer in the car. Thats without going near a motorway. I CBA to brim it and work out the actual mpg, but even if it's 50, it's not bad considering my extremely heavy right foot.

Is your new ride a Manuel Ste?

The yank tank seems to do low 30's, which I can live with.

No, it's auto, Jim. Very nippy, just a bit on the small side for me and the dog. First world problems  ;D

Cars have been white goods since before there were white goods. 'Soul' is just one of the marketing fantasies to make you spend more money than you wanted to become a slave to a machine.
